Cycle Mania

Cyclists rejoice! Google has finally launched Google Maps for bikes.  Google made the exciting announcement Wednesday, March 10th at the Annual Bike Summit in Washington D.C. The new feature allows cyclists to plot the safest and flattest bike route in over 150 cities nationwide.
Google Maps for bikes is user friendly, simply enter a starting point and destination and select ‘Bicycling’ from the drop-down menu. You will receive a route that is optimized for cycling, taking advantage of bike trails, bike lanes, and bike-friendly streets while avoiding hilly terrain whenever possible.

For now the application is available only on a computer. We hope an app is not far behind.
