Nautica Jeans Company didn’t choose Red Hook, Brooklyn for the backdrop of its Fall 2010 story. Red Hook chose us.
Red Hook is where young artists work in old brick warehouses. Where worn signs point in new directions, and the city spills into New York Harbor. This is where you come face to face with the Statue of Liberty, the ultimate symbol of Freedom.
The script for our shoot is “Freedom In Motion.” The active energy of NJC is seen through the lens of print photographer Richard Phibbs, who is famous for capturing style with an edge and for creating a mood of authenticity and masculinity.
Our model, Nicholas Rippy, brings his own cool personal style. After taking some time off to explore the world, Nick is back and took to his skateboard as the actor for our short film, “NJC: Freedom In Motion,” which follows him on his longboard through the cobblestone streets of Red Hook to face the Statue of Liberty. The film will launch virally in July.
