Anders Overgaard was inspired by portraits from Kenya when he was only 10 years old and was destined to be an extraordinary photographer. Born in Helsingor, Denmark, he began his career by taking pictures of what he knew such as his friends. But this Danish photographer’s love for art continued to inspire him to pursue an education at the Copenhagen Graphic Design School. Upon completing college, Overgaard moved to Paris for a year to learn about the fashion business and assisted notable photographers such as Gilles Bensimon. In 1990, he moved to New York City to work with famed photographer Bruce
Weber and spent five years traveling with him. The time spent with him shaped him into the photographer he is today-one who puts total dedication and passion into creating the best possible imagery for his clients. Years after, he went New York and continued to work there for twelve years. Eventually he decided to settle back in Copenhagen, devoting time spent to work, family and
traveling the globe.
His love for the water and outdoors inspires his work. It also allows him to travel the world to places like Argentina and Vietnam, and to work with celebrities such as Rihanna, Diddy, and Dolly Parton. In addition he shoots editorial work for GQ, Marie Claire, and Vogue to name a few while shooting advertising campaigns for many prestigious companies such as Nautica. As a photographer for Nautica, Anders’ energetic work along with his knowledge of fashion is the perfect combination that brings to life to the Nautica campaign. Overgaard began working with Nautica in 2007 and is the photographer of the current Nautica Fall 2010 campaign.
