The bleachers are up, the finish line paint is poured and runners from all over the world are arriving this week for the ING New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 7th. Drawing competitors and fans from all over the world, the ING New York City Marathon is a long standing tradition. From its start in 1970, the Marathon has grown into a weekend long event that showcases the city landscape and offers a great variety of fun for everyone. The events kick-off today, Thursday, November 4th with the ING New York City Marathon Health and Fitness Expo at the Jacob Javitz Center.
This year the New York Road Runners has partnered with Edward Norton and Crowdrise to achieve the goal of raising $26.2 million for charity. Tune in this Sunday to see if this amazing goal is reached! The race will be broadcast live exclusively on NBC 4 New York beginning at 9:00am. NBC Sports will broadcast a two-hour highlight show nationwide, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm; check local listings for details.
