Good Gear & Gadgets: The Green School

The Green School is a remarkable project, created by John Hardy, which brings together sustainability with education.  Located in Bali, India, the completely “green” school combines a traditional curriculum of reading, writing, math, and science with sustainable learning like bamboo building, farming, and ancient Bali Art.  The entire 20 acre facility is made entirely of sustainable materials.   From beautiful double helix bamboo buildings, gas free lunches with food grown on site, and natural light in the classrooms, everything has been taken into considered.  160 children from over 25 different countries thrive in the revolutionary environment where they learn skills for every aspect of life to become Global Green Leaders.

It’s a truly inspiring story that shows how one person can make a huge difference to live a greener lifestyle in our troubled environment.  John Hardy continues to push the boundaries and empower people of the world by building his very own “Cathedral to Green.”
