NAUTICA Ford Fusion. Allmendinger started the 400-lap race at Richmond International Raceway in the 18th position. After the Richard Petty Motorsports crew made some quick adjustments during the first pit stop of the race Allmendinger moved up to the 11th position by Lap 100. Shortly after at Lap 108, Allmendinger began facing car and corner gripping problems once again and slipped back to the 17th position. Luckily crew chief Mike Shiplett and the rest of the team were able to fix the loose handling condition over the next couple pit stops. By lap 302, several pit stops and 4 new tires later Allmendinger fought his way back up to finish in 7th place marking his second top 10 finish of the season!
Allmendinger made the biggest gain of the week, moving up 4 positions to start in 11th place to start the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in Darlington Raceway this weekend.
Help cheer on NAUTICA and AJ Allmendinger during the race at the Darlington (S.C.) Raceway on May 7. You can watch the 367 lap/501 Mile race at 7:30pm ET on FOX.
