The 25th Annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon will be held September 17&18th at Zuma Beach. This year’s events include a Classic Distance and International Distance triathlon, as well as the Nautica Kid’s Run and Tot Trot.
The Nautica Malibu Triathlon Classic Distance course on Sunday, September 18th features a half-mile ocean swim, an 18 mile out-and-back bike course, and a 4-mile out-and-back run course. The course goes through some of the most beautiful roads in Malibu, with spectacular views of the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The Nautica Malibu Triathlon Herbalife International distance race course features a 1.5K Pacific Ocean swim, a 40K out-and-back bike course along the Pacific Coast Highway, and a 10K out-and-back run course on pavement and blacktop along the sands of Zuma Beach.
Also on Sunday, September 18th, kids ages 7 and under are invited to participate in the 50 yard dash and kids 8-12 in the 100 yard dash. Each registration will include a Nautica Tot-Trot t-shirt, finisher medal, race bib, and goody bag. Registration proceeds from the Kid’s Run benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. All kids are invited to join us in the Fun Zone where there will be face painters, caricaturists, and air brush artists as well as other fun arts and crafts. Adam Irigoyen and David Cleveland from Disney Channel’s Shake It Up! will be attending the event.
The Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has long been a charity partner of the event. Founded in 1901, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals and is acknowledged worldwide for its leadership in pediatric and adolescent health. Children’s Hospital is one of only 11 in the nation–and the only one in California. In 2011, the hospital opened the new $636 million, 317-bed state-of-the-art Marion and John E. Anderson Pavilion, which further expanded services and capabilities at its main campus on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, Calif., as well as increased the ability to provide family-centered care to residents throughout the region. Our goal is to raise $1,000,000 for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and pediatric cancer research. Donations can be made here.
