Events: Paul McCartney's Ocean's Kingdom

Paul McCartney has partnered with The New York City Ballet to write the orchestral score for their production, Ocean’s Kingdom. The collaboration came about when Master Choreographer Peter Martins suggested to the former Beatle that they work together and Paul immediately had a piece he’d written in mind to use for the ballet. Ocean’s Kingdom tells the romantic story of two lovers from the opposing Ocean and Earth kingdoms. Stella McCartney designed the costumes for the 40-50 dancers. The score will be released Oct. 4, 2011 on vinyl and digital download. Tickets to the performance are still available, the ballet runs through September 29th in New York.
