Cannon Beach Surf Shop

When we were exploring the Oregon Coast for inspiration,  we stumbled upon the Cannon Beach Surf Shop.  We met the owner, Mark Mekenus, and the crew who shared their love of handcrafted surfboards with us.  They sell some amazing boards and offer four different rental packages of soft top, Exoxy, hand shaped or fiberglass surfboards (no plastic boards!).  If you’re a first time surfer, you can sign up for surf lessons or just ask them questions about how to get yourself into the water.  Julie Adams, surf instructor, photographer and one our featured 020 stories, is part of the crew that you’ll find there, often talking surfing or hanging with the locals.   You can also pick up other surf-related gear including wetsuits, fins, racks, rack pads, wax, straps, stickers and magazines.  If you are in the area, you have to check out the Cannon Beach Surf Shop at 1088 S Hemlock, or click on http://www.cannonbeachsurf.com/index.php where you can find the Cannon Beach surf conditions reported daily by shop owner Mark!
