How to Make a Sled from Stuff in your Garage

Its already February and if the snow has already come down where you live, you’ve probably thought about sledding! If you do not own a sled, don’t let that stop you from living it up a little and enjoying this favorite winter pastime with your friends and family. You can get creative with the stuff that has been sitting in your garage and have an impromptu blast sledding! Some of the typical garage or household items that we thought might be ideal for last minute sled options are:

1. Air Mattress or inner tube. These work great, especially for multiple riders.

2. Garbage can lids, try to use the large metal type.

3. An old cookie sheet that is no longer used in the kitchen.

4. Big Garbage bag- If you do not have any of the above objects, grab a garbage bag and ride down the hill!

Pro tip- Cover the bottom of your “sled” with candle wax to increase your downhill speed. Be careful, but have fun!
