Nautica Celebrates 30 Years on the Water


This year marks Nautica’s 30th Anniversary! Founded in 1983, Nautica has evolved from a collection of six men’s outerwear pieces to a lifestyle brand offering apparel and accessories for men, women and kids as well as a Home Collection. In 1983, the Nautica spinnaker logo was designed as a symbol of adventure, action and classicism. Our logo eventually evolved into the iconic, J-Class boat logo now seen today. One thing that has not changed over 30 years is the Nautica brand’s distinct sense of timelessness – clothes that are bold and fun, yet highly functional.

The coastal community of Newport, Rhode Island and its famous harbor inspired Nautica’s 30th anniversary line. The pieces are classic Nautica, grounded in navy and white, with red trimming and graphic detail, with performance-driven features that take function to the next level. Sailing jackets are waterproof and have innovative emergency lighting in the hood; zip cable shawl cardigans have wind block liners and knit active full-zip hoodies are audio enhanced with headphone draw cords.
