The Fashion Crew: Nautica Aqua Rush, New Fragrance

To capture the spirit of taking on the ocean means to embody every aspect of a nautical adventure – the wind wrestling your sail, catching a wave just before it breaks, and feeling the salty specs of water as they spray alongside your boat while moving full speed ahead. Nautica’s latest fragrance for him, Aqua Rush, a bold, masculine and powerful scent, encompasses the character of a man that craves and longs for the feeling of being one with the ocean. The bottle mirrors the curve of a sailboat or breaking wave and opens with a sharp, powerful aroma of Sea Breeze accord, and follows with hints of spicy-sweet Coriander. The masculinity of the scent is driven by notes of Amberwood, Water Musks, and Teak Wood. The scent, along with every aspect of its design, reflects the active lifestyle of the Nautica Man. The epitome of the strength, spirit and masculinity to take on the ocean as your playground is what this new fragrance represents. Just one spray is all it takes to feel the rush.

Events: Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is this Saturday (May 5th) and in honor of the holiday, we poured a margarita and did some research into what the day represents and why we celebrate it.

Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday celebrating the Battle of Puebla, which took place on May 5, 1862.  In 1861, France sent a massive army to invade Mexico to collect old war debts. The French army was much larger than the Mexican army struggling to defend the road to Mexico City.  The French plundered through Mexico until it reached Puebla, where the Mexicans made a valiant stand and won a huge victory. It was short-lived, as the French army regrouped and continued; eventually taking Mexico City, but the euphoria of this unlikely victory is remembered every May 5th.

Cinco de Mayo is a national holiday in Mexico and is celebrated in Puebla and in many cities here in the United States with parades, dancing, and festivals. Mariachi bands fill town squares, traditional Mexican fare is prepared and served throughout the day; it’s a true celebration of Mexican culture and way of life.

How are you celebrating Cinco de Mayo?
